Be part of governing your community hospital 
Bluewater Health (BWH) is seeking candidates to serve on its Board of Directors and Standing Committees, effective the next Annual General Meeting (AGM). This is an opportunity to volunteer your skills and experience to help shape healthcare in Sarnia-Lambton by providing advice, input and leadership on a broad range of policy and governance issues.
With locations in Sarnia and Petrolia, BWH is a community hospital whose staff, physicians and volunteers care for the residents of Sarnia-Lambton. Its mission is to create exemplary healthcare experiences with patients and families every time. The hospital is governed by a volunteer, skills-based Board of Directors which is responsible for setting policy, establishing strategic directions and monitoring organizational performance.  
The Nominating Committee of the Board of Directors recommends for election by the Board, committed individuals who will volunteer their time to fill vacant Director positions on the Board and Non-Director positions on Board Standing Committees. Directors are elected for three-year terms and NDCMs are elected for one-year terms. All applicants are required to live in Lambton County.   
We invite applications from all those interested in serving in these important roles, however specific skills and expertise being sought to complement those of our existing Directors and Non-Director Committee Members are: 
  • Change Management
  • Legal
  • Information systems/technology
  • Government relations
  • Advocacy
  • Quality and Performance
While maintaining a skills-based Board is our priority, Bluewater Health also strives for the composition of the Board to reflect the diversity of the communities served. Specifically to address current needs, we are seeking increased representation from women, and our rural and aboriginal communities.
