The Diagnostic Imaging department of BWH encompasses multiple Imaging services over 2 sites.
Services offered at the Sarnia hospital:
- General X-Ray, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography/Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP), and Bone Mineral Density.
- Image-guided procedures, including but not limited to soft tissue and solid organ biopsies. Cavity, organ, and abscess drainages. Joint injections for pain.

Healthcare professionals who work within the Diagnostic Imaging Department are known as Medical Radiation Technologists (MRTs). MRTs at Bluewater Health include five distinct disciplines in the healthcare field: Radiological Technologists (X-Ray), Sonographers (Ultrasound), Nuclear Medicine Technologists, and Magnetic Resonance Technologists (MRI). Along with these professionals, our dedicated Radiologists, Nurses, and support staff complete the diagnostic imaging team!

Bluewater Health was one of the first facilities in our area to go fully digital. Our Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) is able to transfer digital images across secure Internet connections with our healthcare partners in London and within South-Western Ontario.
