The Inpatient Surgery unit provides patient and family-centred pre-operative, post-operative, and diagnostic care. Our highly-skilled multidisciplinary team of professionals will collaborate with you and your family to ensure you receive safe, quality care. We are dedicated to supporting you and your family with compassion and caring, in your journey towards recovery, health and healing. The unit consists of two wings - Surgical Inpatient A and Surgical Inpatient B. Our unit has private, semi-private and ward rooms designed to accommodate the wide range of surgical services provided at Bluewater Health. Please refer to the Patient and Family Guide for more information.
As part of your plan of care, patient teaching and discharge planning will be discussed with you and your family to assist you with transitioning home. We encourage you and your family members to be actively involved in your care.
Discharge Phone Calls
The surgical team at Bluewater Health is committed to excellence and improving clinical outcomes. Upon discharge from the hospital, as part of our ongoing effort to collect information about "how we are doing," you may receive a follow-up telephone call or a survey about your experience as a patient. We value your input and feedback to help support quality improvements. These calls also offer an opportunity for you to ask any questions about your discharge instructions.
If you have any questions about your stay on Inpatient Surgery, please contact the unit.
