Anthony Iafrate
Anthony became involved with the Bluewater Health Board of Directors when he was appointed as a non-director committee member on the Quality Committee in June 2013. He was appointed to the Board of Directors in June 2015, has served on all Sub-Committees of the Board and is currently Chair of the Governance and Nominating Committee.
Anthony is a Sociology Professor and Social Researcher at Lambton College. He has been instrumental in increasing Lambton College’s social science research portfolio and outreach to community partners. His past positions include Social Science Research Liaison and Chair of the Research Ethics Board.
A strong advocate for community-based research, Anthony constantly strives to give back to the community through his teaching and research efforts. In his research efforts, he has worked with organizations such as YMCA, Rebound, Lambton College and the County of Lambton. Anthony is the past President of the Dante Club where he assists in preserving and promoting the Italian culture and heritage in Sarnia-Lambton.
Anthony earned his Doctorate Degree and Master’s Degrees in Sociology at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. He also holds a Graduate Degree in Survey Methodology from the Institute of Social Research at University of Michigan, and an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Anthony was born and raised in Sarnia, and is happily married to his wife Melissa. They have one daughter, Ariana.
