
Brian Knott
Brian was appointed to the Bluewater Health Board of Directors in June, 2014. He has served on all Board Sub-Committees and held various leadership positions, including Chair of the Quality and Governance and Nominating Committees, Vice-Chair, and Chair (2020-2022), in addition to serving as the Bluewater Health Board representative on the Bluewater Health Foundation Board since 2015. Brian currently serves on the Quality and Governance and Nominating Committees.
Brian retired as City Solicitor and City Clerk for the City of Sarnia in 2014. During his career, Brian also acted in the capacity of Acting City Manager, and served as a member and Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for the Ontario Municipal Insurance Exchange (OMEX), a municipal insurance reciprocal.
Brian has been active in local community groups, sitting on the Board and Executive of the Inn of the Good Shepherd and the Family Counselling Centre Board for a number of years.
Brian is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts, and the University of Windsor holding a Juris Doctor Degree.
Prior to moving to Sarnia, Brian held the position of Solicitor/Clerk for the City of Chatham and the Municipality of Chatham-Kent for 18 years. During that time, he held community leadership roles as President of the Kiwanis Club and Mental Health Kent.
Brian and his wife, Beth, live in Bright’s Grove, where they enjoy the nearby golf course, the nature trail, and beautiful Lake Huron. They have two adult children who live in Toronto.
