
Paul Wiersma
Paul became involved with the Bluewater Health Board of Directors when he was appointed as a non-director committee member on the Quality Committee in September 2012. He was appointed to the Board of Directors in June 2014, has served on all Board Sub-Committees, and held various Board leadership positions including Quality Committee Chair, Vice-Chair and Chair. He is currently a member of the Quality and Resource Utilization and Audit Committees.
Paul works for the Lambton Kent District School Board as a system coordinator responsible for alternative and continuing education. He is principal of the Lambton Kent Virtual Learn at Home Secondary School. He has held leadership positions at Great Lakes Secondary School, St. Clair Secondary School, and Lambton Central Collegiate and Vocational Institute. Paul’s academic background includes a M.Ed. (Toronto) in curriculum studies, a B.Ed. (Western) in education, and an Honours B.Sc. (McMaster) in mathematics and physics.
Paul serves as Vice-Chair of the Sarnia Police Services Board and has been a volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society for more than fifteen years. Paul serves on the Board of the Sarnia Concert Association.
Paul and his wife, Beth Ann, a professor at Lambton College, have lived in Sarnia for twenty-one years.
