Symptoms and Side Effects

Cancer treatments can cause side effects. Not everyone gets all the side effects and it is important to know each person will experience treatment differently. Most side effects can be treated effectively.

Your nurses will provide you with education and reading material to understand what symptoms to be alert for and how to manage them. If you are concerned or have symptoms, contact the nursing support line at 519-464-4400 Ext. 5517.

For after-hours symptom management, please call 1-877-681-3057. For more information about this service please access the patient handout at the bottom of this web page. If you experience an emergency (such as a fever) after hours report to the Emergency Department and identify yourself as a patient receiving cancer treatment.
