Find or contact a patient
To locate a patient by telephone, please call Switchboard at 519-464-4400, Ext. 0. When you call, you will be asked to state the legal first and last name of the patient you are looking for. If the system can locate that patient and the patient has consented to have their stay confirmed to visitors, you will be transferred to the phone in their room. If you have trouble with the connection please call Switchboard again for further assistance.
To locate a patient once you arrive at the hospital in Sarnia, please speak with a volunteer at the Welcome Desk located inside the main entrance. If a volunteer isn't available at the desk when you arrive, please use the courtesy phone provided to call switchboard (dial 0), who can help you locate a patient.
Contacting a patient by email
If a patient doesn't have their own email account and you would like to send them a message, you can send an e-card and we will deliver it to them. To send an 'e-card' message to a patient at Bluewater Health, please click here.
Please include the patient's first and last name, unit and room number, message, your name and your email in the fields provided. Your message will be printed and a volunteer will hand-deliver it to the patient. If the patient is no longer in our hospital, your message will simply be deleted. Please be aware that a patient will not be able to reply to your message through this service, so treat your email as if it were a postcard. Also remember as our staff and volunteers will be printing and delivering this message, do not include anything in the message that you would not want someone else to accidentally see.
