SARNIA & PETROLIA – February 28, 2021 – Bluewater Health, in consultation with Lambton Public Health, has declared an end to the COVID-19 outbreak in the General Medicine / Acute Medicine unit in Sarnia.

The Bluewater Health Medicine units remained open for admissions when the outbreak was declared on February 18, with enhanced precautions, cleaning, and infection control in place to ensure no further transmission. Enhanced monitoring shows no evidence of further transmission between patients or staff.

Bluewater Health is grateful for the support of all staff and professional staff, the COVID-19 swabbing team, and the community during this time. Diligent infection prevention and control measures were key in helping control the outbreak.

Bluewater Health currently has one COVID-positive patient in hospital.
