With the arrival of spring, construction of the Bluewater Health helipad is soon to commence.
On Monday, May 9, 2022, ground-breaking construction will begin, starting with the removal of the old track. The track property, owned by Bluewater Health for a number of years, has been designated a construction zone since November 2021 in preparation of pending helipad construction.
A reminder to the public that this property will remain fully fenced off and closed for public use over the coming months. The municipal pathway that runs alongside the south side of the property, will also be impacted and temporarily unavailable while the old track is removed. This is expected to take 1-2 weeks.
Bluewater Health anticipates construction of the helipad to finalize late summer 2022, with the helipad fully operational by late fall 2022 pending Transport Canada certification.
