SARNIA & PETROLIA – June 26, 2020 – Starting Monday, June 29, a team of Bluewater Health staff and others will begin testing for COVID-19 at four farms in Sarnia-Lambton. The mobile unit is designed to go to the farms and test on site. The team has members who speak Spanish.
The Lambton strategy is very strategic and is intended to eliminate as many barriers as possible: transportation, testing reluctance, language etc. Recently there have been increased positive cases amongst migrant workers in other parts of the region – the Lambton response is very timely.
The Lambton migrant worker mobile assessment clinics are a collaborative effort with Bluewater Health, Lambton Public Health, Lambton EMS, and the Central Lambton Family Health Team.
