Outbreak Declared Over on Inpatient Medicine

Tuesday, October 11, 2022 - 11:50am

Bluewater Health, in consultation with Lambton Public Health, has declared an end to the COVID-19 outbreak on the Inpatient Medicine unit in Sarnia.

Diligent infection prevention and control measures were key in helping control this outbreak. Bluewater Health is grateful for the support of all staff and professional staff, patients and families, and the community during this time.

Those coming into the hospital are reminded of the importance of complying with Bluewater Health’s policies to prevent the spread of COVID-19. All those entering the hospital need to sanitize their hands and wear a mask at all times. Beginning Wednesday, October 12, all visitors are expected to follow these three rules for visitation:

  1. Maximum two visitors at the bedside at a time.
  2. Visitors must wear masks at all times.
  3. No food or drink for visitors within patient rooms.

Bluewater Health currently has 10 COVID-positive patients in hospital.
