Ambulatory Care offers outpatient services, including assessments and treatments, on referral from a primary care provider. Clinics offered in both Petrolia and Sarnia hospitals provide ongoing care and follow-up for patients of all ages.
Professional, trained staff work alongside the family physicians, specialists and surgeons in the clinics. The nurses, technicians, aides and clerks are supported by a Professional Practice Supervisor for ongoing learning and current best practices.
The following clinics are available in Ambulatory Care:
- Allergy care;
- Chronic pain management;
- Dermatology care;
- Excisions and biopsies;
- Gynaecological care;
- Othopaedic care (including casts, braces, splints and injections);
- Peripherally inserted central catheter management (nurse-led);
- Rheumatology care;

- Vascular/wound care.
Appointments are booked through the physician offices. Upon arrival at the hospital, patients proceed to Patient Registration to register. Once registration is complete, patients will be directed to Ambulatory Care and will be seen by the physician according to medical urgency.
