Outpatient Physiotherapy

The physiotherapy team at Bluewater Health strives to provide comprehensive assessment and treatment programs in order to achieve timely and optimal recovery. Rehabilitation programs are founded on the pillars of providing quality and exemplary patient education, exercise prescription, self-advocacy and manual therapy. The department continues to provide and treat a wide variety of healthcare conditions and injuries. Currently, the department offers programming and specializes in managing post-operative total joint replacement and orthopedic conditions.

As a patient centered, goal oriented program provided by a multi-disciplinary team the main objectives are to:

  • Develop a patient centered and goal oriented approach with each patient
  • Create rehabilitation programs to alleviate symptoms, improve mobility, function and overall quality of life in a timely and supportive environment

Target patient populations:

  • Patients who have recently had a Total Joint Replacement for their knee, hip or shoulder
  • Patients who have recently sustained a fracture requiring management by an orthopedic surgeon
  • Patients with recent post-surgical orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions

This program is funded by OHIP. A referral must be made by your physician or nurse practitioner to access the program. There is no specific referral form.
